"I Done it for Love"

On Saturday night, a Christian widow and mother, very busy with household chores, asked her seven-year old son to clean and polish her shoes. He worked hard on them. Later, with a proud took on his face, he brought her the shoes. She was so pleased she  awarded him with a new quarter. The next morning, as the mother was dressing for church, she put on the shoes, but one was a bit uncomfortable. Removing it and looking inside, she found the quarter wrapped in a piece of paper. Opening it she read the note written in her son's childish scrawl: "I done it for love."
