I AM NOT ASHAMED

The theme of this year's Central Alabama Christian Youth (CACY)Camp was"I AM NOT ASHAMED"fromRom 1:16, where the apostle Paul stated so emphatically, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ  for it is the powerof God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jews first and also for the Greek." Each day's lessons dealt with a different color relating to the text. Monday's color was "RED" for the blood of Christ which He shed in I death. Tuesday's color was "BROWN' for the earth which the Lord was buried. On Wednesday the color was"BLUE" showing the royalty of Christ, and ultimately own royalty because we are in His family. Then Thursday we considered the color "YELLOW' which represented the light of the world, which every Christian is to be. All week we dealt with not being ashamed of Jesus and not being ashamed to stand up for him by telling others about what He did for all mankind.

There are some things about which we should be very ashamed. Attitudes and actions which are contrary to I will of God should make us ashamed. Lack of faith a stubborn disobedience should also make us very ashamed.

But when it comes to speaking up for Jesus Christ we must never allow ourselves to be ashamed or afraid  to mention Him. Matthew 10:32-33 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men him will I also deny him before My Father who is in heaven."

'Ihe fact that some 220 children from manh places managed to get along for more than five days without tearing the place apart says something about their commitment to Lord, and says that they were not ashamed to live right before Him. A good message for us!
