Choose Now

Has there ever been a time when you just could not make up your mind? There are some folks I have gone with to a restaurant, who it seems could not make a selection from the menu. And when they finally chose, then they called back the server to change their order to something different. If you ar in a hurry, beware the indecisive!

I imagine the Lord wonders why so many people have such a hard time choosing which way they wi ll go, when it comes to whom they will serve. A sermon is preached, a lesson is studied, encouraging word are given, an inspiring invitation song is sung, an still so many say, in effect, "No thanks, Lord. Not today. Maybe some other time."

The scriptures are filled Wth examples and admonitions warning that time is uncertain, and opportunities are limited. Two of the more well known passages are:

Joshua 24:15 'And if it seems evil to you to serve the, LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served the were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the, Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. " James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little tim, and then vanishes away.

While it is true that some choices are not so easy or obvious, such as "Where should I live, and whom should  I marry?", other choices, when honestly considered, are, what the kids call, "NO BRAINERS"!

So make up your mind, will you? There is only one choice that makes any sense at all. And you know which one that is. Choose!
