The Year 2001

What will the church at Tanner do in 2001? If we do like we did in 2000, then anyone who comes to us in need will be helped. Those who lose loved ones will be comforted. Anyone who is sick will be visited, prayed for and encouraged. We will feed the hungry, clothe the destitute, and meet whatever need we possibly can. In short we wfll be compassionate and merciful. Such a nature is indeed at the very heart of the spirit of Christ.

There is one concern, however, that must be addressed. Is that all Jesus did? Did He stop with mercy and compassion? Or did our Lord deal with the sins of man? The answer is obvious. Jesus met the physical, emotional and social needs of all He encounter. But His reason for doing so, aside from His genuine concern for them, was to have an opportunity to meet their spiritual need; namely, a restoration of the relationship with God.

So what will the church at Tanner do in 2001 to be more like Christ?
