{"id":298,"date":"2023-10-01T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-01T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tannerchurchofchrist.org\/new\/?p=298"},"modified":"2024-01-15T09:20:16","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T15:20:16","slug":"jesus-confessed-and-professed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tannerchurchofchrist.org\/new\/jesus-confessed-and-professed\/","title":{"rendered":"Jesus Confessed and Professed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BY THOSE WHO SAW HIM:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>John the Baptist: \u201cBehold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world\u201d (Jn 1:29).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nathaniel: \u201cThe Son of God!\u2026.the king of Israel!\u201d (Jn 1:49).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nicodemus: \u201cA teacher come from God\u201d (Jn 3:2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The five thousand: \u201cThis is truly the prophet who is to come into the world\u201d (Jn 6:14).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peter: \u201cChrist, the Son of the living God\u201d (Jn 6:69).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thomas: \u201cMy Lord and my God\u201d (Jn 20:28).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paul: \u201cThe blessed and only Potentate, the king of kings and Lord of lords\u201d (1 Tim 6:15).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>John: \u201cJesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth\u201d (Rev 1:5).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BY JESUS HIMSELF:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cI am the bread of life\u201d (Jn 6:35).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am the light of the world\u201d (Jn 8:12).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am the door\u201d (Jn 10:9).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am the good shepherd\u201d (Jn 10:11).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am the resurrection, and the life\u201d (Jn 11:25).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life\u201d (Jn 14:6).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am the vine\u201d (Jn 15:1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI am\u201d (a declaration that He is eternal, that is, God) (Jn 8:58).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of these confessions were verified by His life, His death, and His resurrection (Rom 1:4). H.G. Wells said, \u201cI am an historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very center of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one can deny what Mr. Wells said, but who do you confess Jesus to be?
