{"id":3066,"date":"2023-06-04T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-04T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tannerchurchofchrist.org\/new\/?p=3066"},"modified":"2024-01-15T11:37:13","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T17:37:13","slug":"why-should-i-support-our-bible-school-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tannerchurchofchrist.org\/new\/why-should-i-support-our-bible-school-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Should I Support Our Bible School Program?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bible classes take a lot of planning, organizing, and hard work, so why would we go through all this trouble? I want to point out a few reasons why it is so important for us and our children to be actively involved in personal and corporate Bible study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>FOR SALVATION<\/strong> \u2013 The Bible tells us about the Savior of all humanity. Without Him there is no hope. <em>\u201cNor is there salvation in any other, for there is no name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved\u201d<\/em> (Acts 4:12). The Bible (gospel) is the <em>\u201cpower of God to salvation\u201d<\/em> (Rom 1:16).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>FOR DIRECTION<\/strong> \u2013<em> \u201cThere is a way that seems right to man but the end thereof are the ways of death\u201d<\/em> (Prov 16:25). Christianity is the best life not only to come, but also right now. Who better to instruct and guide us in our lives than our creator? The prophet Jeremiah wrote <em>\u201cThe way of man is not found within himself\u201d <\/em>(Jer 10:23). David said <em>\u201cThy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path\u201d <\/em>(Ps 119:105). Who would be so foolish to say, I need no direction?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BECAUSE IT WILL JUDGE US<\/strong> \u2013<em> \u201cHe who rejects Me and does not receive My words, has that which judges him \u2013 the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day\u201d <\/em>(Jhn 12:48).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How should I approach the reading and studying of the Bible?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>REVERENTLY<\/strong> \u2013 (2 Tim 3:16) says that all scripture is inspired of God. We need to understand when we read the Bible that what we\u2019re reading is our creator and sustainer\u2019s word and will. The Bible is not to be taken casually, but reverently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>HONESTLY<\/strong> \u2013 It has been said that there are 2 ways to study the Bible. Like a cave explorer \u2013 go where it leads. Let the Bible lead you into all truth. The other way is like an engineer \u2013 we know where we\u2019re going and we\u2019ll get there any way possible. Be honest in your study and let the Bible be the final say, not tradition. Our children need to be taught God\u2019s word. Let\u2019s resolve to bring them to Bible Class. If you haven\u2019t attended a Bible class regularly, put God first Sunday morning and say to yourself, \u201cI\u2019LL BE THERE!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bible classes take a lot of planning, organizing, and hard work, so why would we go through all this trouble?
