Isaiah 62:2 “and thou shalt be called by a new name,<\/span><\/strong> which the mouth of the LORD shall name.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHRISTIANS<\/span><\/strong>– We have a name that honors Christ. “And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” (Acts 11:26) “If any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.” (1 Peter 4:16)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAINTS<\/strong><\/span>– We’re set apart for a holy purpose. “To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HEIRS OF GOD<\/strong><\/span>– We’re given rights to an inheritance. “The Spirit Himself bears wit- ness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.” (Romans 8:16-17)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BELOVED OF GOD<\/strong><\/span>– We’re objects of God’s affection. “\u2026as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” (Colossians 3:12-13)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DISCIPLES<\/span><\/strong>– We’re learners and followers. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Mt 28:19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHILDREN OF GOD<\/span><\/strong>– We have a special relationship with God. “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRIESTS<\/span><\/strong>– We’re granted the privilege to worship. “\u2026you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
