Living in Wisdom

Some people see the Bible as a great work of literature; some consider it a historical chronicle of the Jews and early Christians, while still others read it as God’s supernatural revelation to humanity. In truth, the Bible is all these things and so much more. It’s a light that dispels the darkness of Satan’s deception and reveals God’s truth (Jn 8:32; Jn 14:6). It’s a compass and a light that points us on the right path (Ps 119:105). It is the word of God (2 Tim 3:16).

  • When in trouble or sorrow (Jn 14; Ps 46)
  • When you worry (Mt 6:19-34)
  • When you have the blues (Ps 77; 91)
  • When God seems far away (Ps 139)
  • When you need rest and peace (Mt 11:25-30)
  • When you’re sick (Jam 5; Ps 41)
  • When in danger (Lk 8:22-25; Ps 91)
  • When someone fails you (1 Pet 5:7; Ps 23)
  • When lonely or fearful (Mt 6:25-34; 11:28-30)
  • When discouraged or tempted (1 Cor 10:13; Is 40)
  • When you have sinned (1 Jn 1:7-10; Heb 7:25)
  • When you forget your blessings (Ps 103)
  • When your faith seems failing (Heb 11)
  • When you want courage (2 Cor 12:9)
  • When looking for happiness (Col 3:1-17)
  • When leaving home for travel (Ps 121)
  • When you grow bitter or critical (1 Cor 13)

I hope that these references will help you. May God bless you as you prayerfully read and study His word (2 Tim 2:15; Num 6:24-26).
