I want to commend our Bible class teachers for the great job you are doing. You put a lot of time and effort in doing this and it shows. I especially want to thank those teaching children. We have a tremendous responsibility in teaching our children and young people. If we don’t teach our children the truth of God’s word while they are under our guidance, they stand a good chance of being eternally lost. God wants His word to be taught diligently. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says: “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up”. Teaching our children about God is the most important thing that we can do! Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15, “From a childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation”. Timothy was taught as a child by his mother and his grandmother.
How do we build our faith? Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God”. The word of God is eternal life. James says, “Receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls” (James 1:21). That’s why Bible class teachers are so very important! It is only by the word of God and obedience to it that we can be saved and that includes our children. I believe very strongly in the value of attending and actively participating in our Bible school program. Let’s take full advantage of our Bible classes, and let’s be sure to let our teachers know that we appreciate them.
