We often joke about breaking resolutions. Jokes about New Year’s resolutions, however, may be an indication of a more serious problem. It may point to our fear and lack of determination to persevere, to achieve, and to grow. We need new beginnings. We need the opportunity to start over. Since we are looking at a measure of new time which has an element of the unknown in it, let us make or renew one important resolve — to be BETTER in 2022 than we were in 2021. We are beginning a Sermon Series simply entitled BETTER where we will look at how we can grow & become a better version of ourselves in several specific areas. Let’s resolve to be BETTER in 2022!
ANOTHER YEAR
Another year is dawning! Dear Master, let it be, in working or in waiting, another year with Thee. Another year of leaning Upon Thy loving breast, of ever-deepening trustfulness, of quiet, happy rest. Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace; another year of gladness, in the shining of Thy face. Another year of progress, another year of praise; another year of proving Thy presence all the days. Another year of service, Of witness of Thy love; another year of training For holier works above. Another year is dawning! Dear Master, let it be on earth, or else in heaven, another year for Thee.
