Emblems of the Church (1 Pet 2:5)

As a HOUSEit’s made of one material: Hebrews 3:6 “but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.” As a PILLAR it supports the truth: 1 Peter 3:15 “I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” As a FLOCKit is dependent & it is safe: John 10:27-28 “ My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.“ As a BODYeveryone is united: 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 “ For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body.” As a FAMILY it wears His name: Ephesians 3:14-15 “ For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.” As a WIFEshe is very much loved: Ephesians 5:23-27 “ Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” As a PEARLit is very costly: Matthew 13:46 & Acts 20:28 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
