WE NEED TO GET EXCITED ABOUT OUR FAITH! Why not? We get excited about sports. We are stirred by political campaigns every two or four years. We are fired up concerning international crisis, by the threat of war and by crime. We need to get fired up about the only cure for all this world’s ills, the way of Christ, the Kingdom of God. Christ demands enthusiasm in His followers. He even threatens to spew out the luke-warm members of the church. When Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple, His disciples were so impressed with His fervency of spirit that they recalled the prophecy: “zeal for Thine house eaten me up”. Paul teaches us to emulate our Lord by being “fervent in spirit”. Peter said, “And I think that it is right, as long as I am in this taber-nacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance…”
Enthusiasm literally means “God within us” or “God inbreathed”. The man who is in constant contact with God will be enthusiastic about living for Him and doing right. Tanner, let’s get excited about the Lord and His Church! Let’s jump in with both feet to do His Work, Worship & Fellowship! Let’s get on fire with the love of God and spread that fire to other Christians! The churches of our Lord in our time need to be stirred up. They need to get on fire with the zeal which characterized the New Testament church in the first century. “LET US CONSIDER HOW TO STIR UP ONE ANOTHER TO LOVE AND GOOD WORKS”. Try it today! Pray that the Lord will help you get excited about Christ and His church. Talk to those you meet enthusiastically about the kingdom of God. Your enthusiasm will rub off on others, and God will bless you with more of it.
