Trust In The Lord

Do you remember when you were little and you were afraid there were monsters under your bed or in your closet? What did our parents tell us? They assured us that there were no monsters, or they may have left some kind of light on for us.

Well, my parents gave me a night light, and they told me to trust that they will keep me safe. I eventually grew out of it like we all do, but do we trust in the Lord with all of our heart when we’re in trouble with problems at work or in school, or do we just “wing it?”
A story of such trust is when Jesus calms the storm in Mark 4.35-41, “That day when the evening came Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.’ Leaving the crowd behind, they took Him along into a boat. A furious, violent storm came upon them and water poured into the boat from the waves. Jesus was in the stern in a deep slumber when the disciples awoke him and told him, ‘Master do you care if we drown?’ Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves. ‘Quiet!’ Be still!’ Then the wind died and everything was still. Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Why are you afraid? Do you not trust in me that I will protect you?’ The disciples were terrified and asked each other, ‘Who is this? Even the wind and waves obey him.'”

A similar story is found in Matthew 14.22-36, when Jesus walked on the water. Peter did too, but when he saw the great wind he lost trust and began to sink. Do we do that too?

Do we trust Him in our daily lives that He will give us the strength to overcome? Do we trust in His power or in our ability?
If you are in need of trust or faith look at Proverbs 3.5-6, where Solomon says, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He’ll make your paths straight.”

So may we all trust in the Lord with all of our heart!
