Guest Speaker: Laura Jenkins
Author of Thought Garden: Growing Healthy Thoughts with the Master Gardener
Laura has served as a ministerial counselor at Mt. Juliet Church of Christ since 2010. She graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 2006 and received her Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2010. She and her husband Philip have two children, Lucas (age 12) and Holley (age 11).
Laura strives to create a safe and accepting counseling environment that helps promote growth and healing for her clients. She believes counseling must treat the mind, body, and spirit. She encourages her clients to discover their strengths while promoting compassion for themselves and others.
In addition to counseling, she works with Mt. Juliet’s youth ministry team in shaping and creating programs that serve their students. She finds so much joy in watching young people grow in their relationship with God and with one another.
Laura has written 3 books: Thought Garden, Thought Garden Teen Edition, and Thought Garden Children’s Edition. These books are designed to help people cultivate a though t life that is firmly planted in God’s truth.
